Kosher/Halal

Halal is a system of religious laws governing food within the Muslim religion. Kosher is a system of religious laws governing food within the Jewish religion. While from different religions, these two systems are quite similar. Halal requires the supervision of food processing by a respected Muslim leader. The Halal supervision within our factory will be led by Imam Ahmed Kobeisy.
Kosher requires the overall supervision of food processing by a Rabbi, who is often assisted by other religious observants, such as young rabbinical students. All of the cheese produced by Saratoga Cheese will be both Halal and the highest level of Kosher, called Cholov Yisroel. To achieve this level of Kosher, SCC will not only have rabbinical supervision within our factory led by Rabbi Nachman Simon, but must also have 50 young rabbinical students on the farms continuously in shifts observing the milking of cows.
Nothing additional will go into our cheese to make it Kosher or Halal. The opposite is true. Both certifications require the utmost purity. The fact that SCC’s products will be Kosher and Halal, means that all consumers will enjoy the purest possible products. What this means to all other ethnic and religiouos groups is an assurance that their purchase of cheese made by Saratoga Cheese Corporation will be of the highest purity and taste.
